Mosquito fogging continues.

In an effort to reduce mosquito populations, City crews will continue mosquito fogging this week.  The city typically does their spraying in the evenings.  Fogging will continue, as needed and weather permits, over the coming weeks.

City crews would also like to remind the public that if you have any standing water in your yards, dump the water to reduce the number of mosquito eggs and larva.   Standing water can be in outdoor pet bowls, old tires, bird baths, trash cans, etc.  Another unseen breeding ground is rain gutters and backyard swimming pools.   Be sure to keep your rain gutters unclogged and treat your pool regularly - remove debris and keep filters clean.  Most breeds of mosquitos will go from egg to full adult within 7-10 days; therefore it’s very important to flush out standing water every week to keep mosquito population to a minimum.

Informational pamphlets on mosquito control are available at the City Building, 133 W. 8th Street.
