RUSSELL, Kansas – October 30, 2023 – The City of Russell, Kansas, will honor veterans and their families in a ceremony as Mayor Jim Cross signs a proclamation officially designating the city as a Purple Heart City. The event is scheduled for November 14, 2023, at 5:00 PM at City Hall, 133 W. 8th Street, Russell, Kansas.

The evening's event will commence with a heartwarming reception dedicated to Purple Heart recipients and their families. All veterans, their families, and the public are warmly invited to attend this reception and the proclamation signing.
