Check Alert Program
The City of Russell Police Department has been sponsoring a "Check Alert System" for over 15 years. This system is a quick way to alert local businesses of suspicious and criminal activity involving personal or business, counterfeit currency and some credit card fraud.

Vacation Watch Program
We are proud to continue our residential vacation watch program. This program is intended for residents who will be away for short periods of time and don't have anyone locally to watch their home.

Public Transit Program
The Russell Ride, Russell’s local public transit system, offers safe and affordable transportation with handicap accessibility to any location in the city limits of Russell.

Sidewalk Replacement Program
The Sidewalk Replacement Program is designed to assist property owners with the replacement of deteriorated sidewalks.

Neighborhood Revitalization Plan
A new Neighborhood Revitalization Plan was adopted by the City Council and became effective on January 19, 2016. This new plan was developed to promote the revitalization and development within the City of Russell by stimulating new construction and the rehabilitation of existing structures.

Water Conservation Program
The city recognizes the importance of scarcity of water in Kansas, especially during this prolonged drought. In addition to the securing of additional water sources and improving our infrastructure, the city began a residential water conservation program in 2013 by offering free low-flow shower heads to our customers.
