Mosquito fogging begins this week.
To reduce mosquito populations, City crews will begin mosquito fogging this week. Fogging will continue, as needed and weather permits, over the coming weeks.
City crews would also like to remind the public that if you have any standing water in your yards, dump the water to reduce the number of mosquito eggs and larva. Standing water can be in outdoor pet bowls, old tires, birdbaths, trash cans, etc. Another unseen breeding ground is rain gutters and backyard swimming pools. Be sure to keep your rain gutters unclogged and treat your pool regularly - remove debris and keep filters clean. Most mosquitoes will go from egg to full adult within 7-10 days; therefore, it’s essential to flush out standing water every week to keep the mosquito population to a minimum.
