As part of a crucial upgrade to the electric distribution system, residents along 7th Street and Wisconsin Street, between N. Front and Copeland Streets, will experience brief power outages lasting approximately 15 minutes. These outages are necessary as crews work diligently to relocate power lines and transformers to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the electrical infrastructure.

To ensure affected residents are well-informed, notices have been placed on the doors of properties slated for temporary power interruptions. Residents are advised to prepare accordingly for these short outages.

Dave Sturgeon, the Electric Utility Director for Russell, emphasized the importance of these upgrades, stating, "The electric distribution system rebuild is a critical step towards enhancing the reliability and resilience of our city's power infrastructure. While we understand that brief interruptions may inconvenience residents, these upgrades are essential for ensuring a more robust and dependable electrical grid for the entire community."

Residents seeking further information or clarification regarding the planned power outages are encouraged to contact Dave Sturgeon at 785.483.7112.

The city appreciates the patience and cooperation of its customers during this essential phase of infrastructure improvement.
