Garrett Berry Appointed Building Official/Zoning Administrator
Garrett Berry has been appointed to the position of Building Official/Zoning Administrator effective July 5, 2025. Garrett has worked for the City of Russell since 2024 as the Building Inspector. He is currently an International Code Council Certified Residential and Commercial Inspector. He serves on the Kansas Heart of America Chapter ICC as Secretary and Northwest Director.
As Building Official/Zoning Administrator, Garrett will serve a key role on the City’s Administrative team, overseeing construction plans, building inspections, code compliance, planning, zoning, and land development. City Manager Kayla Schneider stated, “Since Garrett started working with us at the City, he has dedicated himself to learning his trade and establishing strong relationships with the contractors he collaborates with daily, as well as with community members we serve. His initiative, strong work ethic, and forward-looking approach will benefit this community for years to come.”
Garrett and his wife Andrea have one daughter and are expecting a son this fall. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, golfing, traveling, hunting, and fishing.
