The City of Russell has received a $150,000 Community Development Block Grant to help local for-profit businesses retain jobs for low-to-moderate income people. CV3 funding can assist these businesses with issues triggered by the Covid-19 virus and when no other funds are available.
The City of Russell will begin accepting applications for CV3 assistance beginning August 4, 2021 until August 31, 2021.
Eligible working capital expenses can include: inventory/supplies, utilities, payroll/wages, rent, property taxes, insurance, postage, advertising, etc.
Ineligible: construction, existing debt, contract labor, and city/county owned utilities.
Applications can be picked up at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office located at 133 W. 8th Street, Russell, Kansas. Please contact treasurer@russellcity.org to request an application by email.
Applications should be completed and dropped off at the City of Russell office at 133 W. 8th Street, Russell, Kansas, during business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Our CDBG Grant Administrator will review applications for completeness and eligibility. After that, the The City Council of Russell will review and award funds based on based on review of demonstrated need with funds available.
Should additional funding remain after August 31, 2021, The City of Russell will advertise for Round 2 funding.
