The East residential circuit lost power around 12:37 pm today when a fault occurred in one of the phases. When an outage occurs, electric crews respond to the area and check the lines within the circuit to find a cause. Today’s outage, which lasted approximately 25 minutes, may have been caused by metal debris flying into the power lines. While flying debris always poses a danger, it is especially hazardous when it comes into contact with power lines. The City asks customers to double-check that debris from the December 15th storm is picked up, disposed of, or secured. If you observe storm debris close to a power line or tree limbs in or near a power line, please call the City building at 785.483.6311
