Sanitation Routes Altered for Independence Day Holiday, Public Transit Not Operating

 

City offices will be closed and the public transportation bus will not operate on July 4, 2023, for Independence Day.

Sanitation routes usually serviced on Tuesday will be serviced on Wednesday.   Please make sure your poly-carts are out by 7 a.m., keeping in mind that the sanitation trucks have no set time for pickup throughout the day.   

The recycling trailers, located at 236 E. 9th Street, continues to be available for use 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Recyclable items that can be placed in the trailer include glass, aluminum, tin, and plastics #1 thru #7.  Please make sure these items are rinsed and placed in the appropriate bin.   

Cardboard is also accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at the Recycling Center, 333 E. 9th Street.  Paper and magazines are accepted during regular operating hours.  

City of Russell customers that may have any questions regarding this notice should contact the Street Department at 785.483.2190.
